Job summary

St Albans City and District Council is seeking a Planning Officer to contribute to a high-performing, customer-focused service. You will determine planning applications, participate in Committees and Appeals, and negotiate outcomes to support residents and sustainability.

The role requires RTPI Licentiate status or eligibility, with experience across Conservation Areas, listed buildings and minor developments. Hybrid working is available within a vibrant district.

Qualifications

• Licentiate membership of the RTPI or eligibility for membership.
• Experience working on planning cases, including Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings and minor developments.

Responsibilities

• Determine a diverse range of planning applications and appeal work.
• Provide professional expertise at Committees, Planning Appeals and Enforcement cases.
• Lead on negotiation of planning applications and ensure positive outcomes for customers and residents.
