Job summary

Stockport Council is seeking an Assistant Planning Officer to join its planning service in Stockport. You will manage a varied caseload of applications, enquiries and appeals, undertaking site visits and preparing reports with clear planning judgement to support quality development across the borough.

You will work with colleagues, residents and partners, share knowledge, assist with validation and contribute to service improvements while developing your planning career in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• A relevant planning qualification or experience of handling a varied caseload.
• Member of the RTPI or working towards it.
• Organised, curious and confident interpreting plans and writing clear reports.
• Able to prioritise workload and adapt communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of applications, enquiries and appeals.
