Job summary

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is inviting applications for a Planning Officer in a full-time, permanent position with hybrid working. The salary ranges from £30,193 to £34,104 per annum.

You will handle a wide range of planning applications and pre-application enquiries, supporting senior officers on larger schemes and ensuring quality design and sustainable development. A degree in Town Planning or relevant subject is encouraged, with Local Authority experience desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or a relevant subject; qualified Planner considered advantageous.
• Experience with a Local Planning Authority desirable.
• Strong understanding of planning policy and development management principles.

Responsibilities

• Deal with a wide range of planning applications, certificates and pre-application enquiries.
• Assist with planning appeals under the written representations procedure; support senior officers with larger schemes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure design quality, sustainability and housing provision in the Borough.

The role:

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to join our Planning Service as a Planning Officer within one of our two Area Teams.

As a Planning Officer, you will deal with a wide range of applications, certificates and pre-application enquiries. The role would include dealing with planning appeals under the written representation procedure. You may also be asked to help more senior officers with larger and more complex applications and condition discharges.

If you have a degree in Town Planning or in a relevant subject, or are a qualified Planner, then we want to hear from you. Experience working for a Local Planning Authority is desirable but not essential.
