A local authority is seeking an ambitious planner to further their career within Development Management. This permanent position requires a degree in Planning or a related field and involves handling both householder and smaller-scale planning applications. We are looking to recruit an ambitious planner seeking to further their experience within Development Management and take their career to the next level. This opportunity arises in response to a vacancy and will suit a recent Graduate or someone already working in Planning or a related field who is looking for further experience. The successful candidate will be based within one of the two area teams and the role will involve you in a wide range of householder and smaller scale planning (and associated) applications.
You will work within the beautiful Herefordshire countryside as well as dealing with casework within the city of Hereford or its surrounding market towns and villages. The County is rich in biodiversity, landscape and heritage value including two National Landscapes, Special Areas of Conservation, Conservation Areas and many listed building buildings. We think it`s a truly outstanding place to work, that will allow the right candidate a fantastic opportunity to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative team environment; to work flexibly from the Plough Lane office, various Multi-Agency Offices in the market towns and from home; gain valuable experience in a wide range of casework, as well as an opportunity to shape a sustainable future for Herefordshire as the Council continues the review of its Core Strategy.

You will have a degree in Planning or a related degree and eligible for future membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute. You will have the ability to drive around the county and support for further career development will be available for the right candidate.
