Job summary

SSE plc is seeking experienced Planning Managers to lead the planning and scheduling for a portfolio of UK energy infrastructure projects. Roles span Onshore, Offshore and Development, with base in Scottish locations and 50% office time in Glasgow, Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen.

You will provide strategic leadership, develop planning teams, and ensure schedules are realistic to support informed decisions across the project lifecycle. NEC3/FIDIC and Primavera P6 experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction management, engineering or related field; NVQ5 is acceptable.
• Significant experience leading planning teams and complex programmes.
• Strong knowledge of contract planning requirements and project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage planning teams across a portfolio of transmission projects.
• Oversee development, baselining and analysis of robust project schedules end-to-end.
• Provide strategic planning guidance, identify risks and mitigation actions.
• Lead schedule risk analysis, contingency management and reporting.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and wider stakeholders to maintain planning standards.
