Job summary

Owen Daniels in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Supply Chain/Planning Manager to lead both Planning and Purchasing within a manufacturing environment. You will own customer demand, production planning, and supplier performance, driving continuous improvement across the entire supply chain.

The role requires strong leadership, deep SIOP knowledge, and proficiency with ERP systems to optimise planning, scheduling and inventory. Derby-based with an ASAP start is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead Planning and Purchasing teams, align customer demand with production via SIOP.
• Translate demand into achievable production schedules through capacity planning and SIOP.
• Monitor demand changes, produce KPI reports, and partner with manufacturing to meet delivery targets.
• Drive supplier performance, optimise purchasing processes and ERP-based planning.
• Coach the supply chain team, embed lean practices and uphold procedures.

Job Description

• Leading the Planning and Purchasing teams, managing customer demand through the SIOP process to ensure production, capacity and material plans are aligned with business requirements.
• Managing the production planning process, ensuring customer demand is translated into achievable production schedules through effective capacity planning and SIOP.
• Managing the sales orderbook, monitoring customer demand changes, producing KPI reports, and working closely with manufacturing to ensure delivery performance and operational targets are achieved.
• Driving supplier performance, managing key supplier relationships, implementing cost reduction initiatives, improving purchasing processes and using ERP systems to optimise planning, scheduling, inventory and supply chain performance.
• Coaching and developing the supply chain team, embedding lean processes, improving KPI performance, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and supply chain best practice.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Supply Chain Manager, Planning Manager, Demand Planning Manager or similar leadership position within precision manufacturing
• Strong understanding of both production planning/SIOP and purchasing
• Experienced using ERP/MRP systems
• Strong supplier communication experience
