Job summary

Owen Daniels in Derby is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead both Planning and Purchasing, owning customer demand, production planning and supplier performance across the supply chain. You will drive SIOP processes, manage the sales orderbook and KPI reporting, and coach the planning and purchasing teams to improve delivery performance and operational targets in a manufacturing setting.

This permanent role in Derby requires strong ERP/MRP experience and a proven leadership track

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Supply Chain Manager, Planning Manager or similar leadership role in precision manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of production planning/SIOP and purchasing.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong supplier communication experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Planning and Purchasing teams, managing customer demand through the SIOP process and aligning production, capacity and material plans with business needs.
• Oversee production planning to translate demand into achievable schedules via capacity planning and SIOP.
• Manage sales orderbook, monitor demand changes, produce KPI reports and work with manufacturing to meet delivery targets.
• Drive supplier performance, manage key relationships, implement cost reduction initiatives and optimise planning, scheduling, inventory and supply chain performance using ERP.

Job Description

• Leading the Planning and Purchasing teams, managing customer demand through the SIOP process to ensure production, capacity and material plans are aligned with business requirements.
• Managing the production planning process, ensuring customer demand is translated into achievable production schedules through effective capacity planning and SIOP.
• Managing the sales orderbook, monitoring customer demand changes, producing KPI reports, and working closely with manufacturing to ensure delivery performance and operational targets are achieved.
• Driving supplier performance, managing key supplier relationships, implementing cost reduction initiatives, improving purchasing processes and using ERP systems to optimise planning, scheduling, inventory and supply chain performance.
• Coaching and developing the supply chain team, embedding lean processes, improving KPI performance, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and supply chain best practice.
