Job summary

Hunter Douglas Retail UK Limited is seeking a Senior Supply Planner to lead material resource planning across UK operations. You will manage demand, inventory, and supplier relationships to ensure products are available for customers and production schedules.

You will mentor junior planners and drive continuous improvement in planning processes, including SAP MRP configuration and data quality, to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience within MRP, supply planning or a similar role.
• Experience in a UK supply chain or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of SAP MRP or another SAP module.
• Advanced MS Office skills, particularly for data analysis.
• A degree in a business-related subject or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Supply Planner to join our Planning team and take responsibility for material resource planning across our UK operations.

In this key role, you will manage a supply planning portfolio, ensuring we have the right products and materials available at the right time to meet customer and production requirements, while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and supporting operational efficiency.

You will have end to end visibility across the supply chain and work closely with suppliers and teams across Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer Service and Finance. You will also play an active role in new product introductions, end of life initiatives and the ongoing development of our planning processes.

As a senior member of the team, you will support and mentor other planners, champion best practice and take ownership of continuous improvement initiatives that help us create a more efficient, data driven planning function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage material resource and supply planning across UK sites, balancing demand, availability and inventory levels.
• Ensure finished goods are available to meet customer orders and that raw and packaging materials are available to support production requirements.
• Forecast future demand, including new product ranges and promotional activity, while balancing service levels with stock turns and agreed inventory budgets.
• Manage stock replenishment and proactively identify, communicate and resolve potential stock shortages.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and key internal stakeholders.
• Design, implement and continuously improve MRP processes, routines, policies and controls.
• Optimise the use of SAP MRP, including planning parameters and master data, ensuring accurate visibility of stock, goods in transit and open purchase and sales orders.
• Provide supply planning insights into the S&OP process, working closely with Commercial and other cross-functional teams.
• Monitor and report on key supply chain KPIs, including OTIF, stock availability and lead-time adherence, using insights to drive improvements.
• Support new product introductions and end of life projects across your portfolio.
• Coach and mentor MRP Controllers, sharing best practice and supporting development across the team.
• Champion continuous improvement, automation and digitalisation to improve efficiency and support data-driven decision making.

Candidate profile

We are looking for someone who combines strong supply planning knowledge with excellent analytical and relationship building skills. You will be confident taking ownership of your portfolio while working collaboratively across the wider business.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience within MRP, supply planning or a similar supply chain planning role.
• Experience working within a UK supply chain or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of SAP MRP or another SAP module.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly when working with and analysing data.
• A BSc/MSc in a business related subject or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into meaningful actions and decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues across the business as well as external suppliers.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement, with experience identifying and implementing improvements to processes and ways of working.
• The ability to manage competing priorities within a fast paced supply chain environment.
• Previous experience coaching or supporting the development of colleagues would be advantageous.
