Job summary

Dornan, based in London, is seeking a Graduate Planner to support planning and project controls on major engineering and construction projects. You will work closely with planning, engineering and construction teams to learn scheduling and progress measurement in a live environment.

Qualifications

• Construction Management Degree (Level 8) within the past 3 years or currently pursuing.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to learn and work on live projects in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and project controls on major live engineering/construction projects.
• Set up Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Progress Measurement Systems (PMS).
• Conduct site walks to monitor progress and learn site operations.
• Update material take-offs (MTOs) and Installation Work Packs (IWPs).

The Role:

Join Dornan's Graduate Planner Programme to gain hands-on experience supporting the planning and project controls functions on major engineering and construction projects.

This Programme ensures that graduates gain exposure to all aspects of project planning within a live construction environment, working closely with planning, engineering and construction teams.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Using software such as Excel, Power BI and Bluebeam to support planning activities.
• Site walks to monitor project progress and become familiar with site operations.
• Supporting Openspace 360 camera surveys to capture weekly site progress.
• Supporting the setup of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Progress Measurement Systems (PMS).
• Completing material take-offs (MTOs) and updating Installation Work Packs (IWPs).
