Wakefield Council are looking to recruit an ambitious individual who is interested in furthering their career in Local Government and who is able to help us to deliver a high-quality Planning Enforcement Service in order to maintain and improve the built and natural environment of the district.
The main purpose of the role is to contribute to providing a high quality, customer-focused planning compliance service by investigating alleged breaches of planning control and pursuing the most appropriate and effective action to remedy these. This will include managing a caseload of planning enforcement investigations, preparing expediency reports, and drafting enforcement notices where appropriate
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of the application of planning policy and legislation, and have excellent communication, report writing and organisational skills. Previous experience would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be outcome focussed, have the ability to work under pressure and be capable of dealing efficiently and effectively with alleged breaches of planning control in order to collate evidence and to take appropriate action where necessary.
