Job summary

Derby City Council is advertising a Planning Enforcement and Compliance Officer within the busy Development Management Team. Planning Enforcement and Compliance Officer

Salary: £38,510 - £41,177 a year

Location: Hybrid - The Council House/Home working

Hours: 37 hours a week

Contract Type: Permanent

The Opportunity
  • The post is for a Planning Enforcement & Compliance Officer within Derby City Council’s busy Development Management Team to deal with breaches of planning control, with a specific emphasis on the city centre and listed building issues and contraventions.
  • The service is based on an ethos of pro-active and proportionate responses to breaches of planning control, and the successful candidate will be a proven communicator and negotiator with established people skills.
What you’ll be doing
  • The post-holder will be able to effectively co-ordinate and communicate all complaints with colleagues from across the Council and beyond.
  • The post-holder will be conversant with raising and serving enforcement notices, stop notices, breach of conditions notices, injunctions, and summonses.

  • The post demands an enthusiastic motivated person with sound organisational skills and the ability to work effectively with all service users.
