Job summary

Beach Baker is delighted to support a respected multidisciplinary property consultancy in Morpeth as a Planner / Planning & Development Consultant. The role covers planning applications, development appraisals, site opportunities and client-facing consulting across Northumberland and the North East.

You will work with MRICS, RTPI-qualified professionals or those with equivalent planning experience, delivering reports, strategies and timely outcomes while developing relationships with authorities

Qualifications

• MRICS, RTPI qualified or equivalent planning experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple instructions, deadlines and client expectations.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning applications, development appraisals, prior approvals, pre-application enquiries and planning strategies.
• Review planning policy, site constraints, technical reports, plans and development opportunities.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants, architects and other professional advisers.
• Support developer, promoter and landowner engagement, including strategic land opportunities.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, local authorities and professional contacts.
• Prepare reports, fee proposals, professional correspondence and client advice.
• Manage instructions effectively, including budgets, deadlines, client updates and file management.
• Help identify new business opportunities and support wider business development activity across the region.
