Job summary

Beach Baker is seeking a Planning & Development Surveyor to join their Morpeth team. The role covers planning, rural property and development consultancy across Northumberland and the wider North East, with a mix of technical work and client-facing responsibilities.

You will work with MRICS/RTPI-qualified or equivalent professionals, handling site appraisals through to planning outcomes, and supporting business development within a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• MRICS or RTPI qualification or equivalent planning experience.
• Experience in planning, development, rural property, land agency or consultancy.
• Ability to manage multiple instructions and client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning applications, development appraisals and pre-application work.
• Review policy, site constraints and development opportunities.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants and architects.
• Support engagement with developers, landowners and promoters.
• Prepare reports, fee proposals and client advice.
• Manage instructions, budgets, deadlines and file management.
• Identify new business opportunities and support regional development.
