Job summary

South Staffordshire Group is offering an apprenticeship as Planning Administrator Apprentice to support the Regional Programme Manager and planning team with day-to-day administrative tasks. The role is designed to develop practical workplace skills, build confidence and gain knowledge of the utility industry and processes.

You will assist with processing MU call offs, updating systems, responding to site queries and liaising with site contacts across developments and field staff.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required; in-house training provided.
  • Good use of IT skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Accuracy and an eye for detail.
  • Team player with good communication skills and listening abilities.
  • Able to solve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange MU call offs for services.
  • Arrange MU post connection paperwork for services.
  • Schedule MU Services and Electricity jointing.
  • Send MU site notifications.
  • Handle MU queries and issues via phone/email/site contacts.
  • Prepare all MU service Job Packs, including drawings and dead mains with commissioning.
  • Process Water, Gas and Electricity material orders from site to procurement.
  • Book corrective actions.
  • Liaise with Supervisors and Project Managers about program changes.
  • Liaise with client site management team.
  • Handle daily phone calls.
  • Attend Daily and Operations meetings.

The Role:

The Planning Administrator Apprentice will be to support the Regional Programme Manager and wider Planning team (Wes)t with day-to-day administrative tasks within the team. The role is designed to help the apprentice develop practical workplace skills, build confidence and gain knowledge of the utility industry and processes.

Working with guidance and support, the apprentice will assist with processing multi-utility call offs, updating relevant systems and spreadsheets, responding to site queries and helping with any procurement queries that may arise. This role will also involve liaising with site contacts across different developments & field staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Arrange all MU call offs for services.
  • Arrange all MU post connection paperwork for services.
  • Scheduling all MU Services and Electricity jointing.
  • Sending all MU site notifications.
  • Dealing with all MU queries and issues, such as replacements, leaks and repairs and phone calls/ emails from site.
  • All MU service Job Packs, including drawings and going through dead mains with commissioning.
  • Processing of Water, Gas and Electricity Material orders from site through to procurement.
  • Booking in corrective actions.
  • Liaising with Supervisors and Project Managers about program changes.
  • Liaising with client site management team.
  • Dealing with daily phone calls.
  • Attend meetings; Daily Meeting, Operations Meeting.
