Planning Role in Oxford

We are looking for a recently qualified Planner or experienced Senior Planner to join our Planning team in Oxford. Based in our Oxford hub office, you will be part of the wider and fully integrated Planning and Development South team, currently comprising 18 professionals with diverse specialisms and extensive experience in planning and development projects across various sectors throughout the south and southwest.

The role involves generating fees through managing a variety of planning matters, enhancing existing client relationships, securing new clients, and contributing to the team’s financial and strategic objectives. Our clients include Blenheim Palace, CEG, Oxford University Hospital Trusts, and the UK Atomic Energy Authority.

Key Responsibilities

1. Providing professional planning advice to clients on various planning matters
2. Negotiating with local authorities and statutory bodies regarding planning applications and related issues
3. Preparing representations for informal hearings and public inquiries
4. Representing clients at local plan inquiries
5. Advising clients on the planning potential of sites
6. Negotiating detailed planning matters with authorities and statutory bodies
7. Collaborating with other departments to provide comprehensive advice and services
8. Preparing and submitting planning applications and statutory declarations
9. Applying for Certificates of Lawfulness and grounds for appeal

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be RTPI Chartered with post-qualification experience in a planning consultancy or local authority setting. You should be eager to learn about the local area and planning system, capable of working independently on smaller projects and collaboratively on larger ones. Experience in client meetings, strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a desire for professional growth are essential.
