Job summary

Kier Group, part of Kier Environment, is seeking a Planner to develop and manage integrated tender and delivery programmes for environmental and civil engineering infrastructure projects across the South West. The role involves frequent site visits and hybrid working by agreement, with a focus on reliable forecasting and clear programme advice to support project decisions.

Qualifications

• Construction, civil engineering or project planning experience with relevant qualifications (HNC/HND, degree or equivalent).
• Strong Excel skills (lookups, conditional formulas, PivotTables, data validation) and competence in MS Project and Primavera P6.
• Good commercial acumen and knowledge of NEC contracts, especially programme requirements, early warnings and compensation events.
• Understanding of construction sequencing, logistics and productivity; able to validate planning assumptions with site teams.
• Self-motivated, independent, able to prioritise, with clear communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining fully integrated programmes using Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 across design to handover stages.
• Attending sites regularly to verify progress and validate dates, quantities and productivity with delivery teams.
• Coordinating with environmental specialists on surveys, permits and working windows for protected species.
• Analyzing critical paths, identifying risks and producing reports to support project decisions.
• Managing multiple schemes across different locations with prioritised updates.
