We are offering a full-time, permanent position as a Planned Electrical Craftsperson (Electrical Maintenance Engineer) based in Plymouth and Totnes. The salary ranges from £34,368 to £40,729 annually, with standby allowances, call-out, and overtime payments. Benefits include a company van, excellent perks, and a 37-hour workweek with 1 in 4 Fridays off.

Role overview: You will be responsible for fault finding, maintenance, and repair of SWW assets across various sites, ensuring asset availability and compliance, and supporting environmental and safety standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform planned maintenance on electrical equipment, including pumps, motors, switchgear, and treatment machinery.
  • Conduct fault finding and repairs on site.
  • Handle electrical control system repairs.
  • Work in confined spaces and at heights using breathing apparatus if needed.
  • Develop skills in installing and maintaining electrical systems in explosive atmospheres.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and maintain safety standards.
  • Maintain training and competencies as per requirements.

Additional duties include ordering parts, installing new electrical equipment, assisting with complex problems, updating internal teams, and acting as the standby electrical craftsperson.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths, English, and Science at grade C or above.
  • Relevant formal qualifications (City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC/HNC/HND).
  • Compliance with IEE 18th Edition Regulations.
  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable skills include Inspect and Test 2391-10, CompEx certification, experience with VSDs and motor control, understanding wiring diagrams, and working knowledge of LV systems.
