Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Component Service Engineer for a 12-month student placement in Huddersfield, UK. The role requires on-site presence, three days per week, with relocation or travel supported as needed.

You will work on fixes for product issues, warranty data handling, and analysis of returned parts while supporting OEM account teams. The candidate should be pursuing a STEM degree (Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace) and demonstrate a hands-on, analytical mindset,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a STEM degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aerospace engineering.
• Willingness to adopt a hands-on approach.
• Structured, analytical approach to problem solving.
• Flexible: able to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Support identification, resolution and implementation of fixes on key product issues with Automotive OEMs.
• Initial data capture and Warranty claim information processing.
• Analysis of customer returned parts and field investigation for potential product issues.
• Support OEM account teams in finding resolutions to customer issues.
• Component failure assessment and processing.
• Identify key customer issues through data analysis.
