About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (a new build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small Modular Reactor) capability, and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.

Working in both client-facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We aim to deliver safe, high-quality, and timely solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

Jacobs is seeking a Piping Calculations Engineer who will be an integral part of the team, contributing to the design phase of the Hinkley Point C project. You will oversee the detailed design of a large piping network, over 100 kilometers long, forming the backbone of the Nuclear Island. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the integrity of the pipe network design and supporting structures through detailed piping calculations.
• Assessing HVAC and electrical supports for various load scenarios, including dead weight, thermal expansion, and seismic activity.
• Using finite element analysis software.
• Knowledge of Python programming is advantageous for developing specialized tools.
