We now have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Piping Calculation Engineers to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. Join us and contribute to the mega-infrastructure Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).
Job Summary
This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the design phase of the Hinkley Point C project. You will oversee the meticulous design of an extensive piping network, over 100 kilometres long, forming the backbone of the Nuclear Island for the HPC EPR project.
As a Piping Calculation Engineer, your main responsibility will be to ensure the integrity of the pipe network design and its supports by performing detailed piping calculations and assessing HVAC and electrical supports for various load scenarios, including dead weight, thermal expansion, and seismic activity.
Expertise in finite element analysis software is highly valued and essential for this role. Knowledge of Python programming is advantageous for developing specialized tools.
