Job summary

Portsmouth Water is recruiting an Assistant Project Manager (Pipelines) to support the Havant Thicket Reservoir pipeline programme. You will coordinate, monitor, and manage activities across two major contracts, covering mechanical and electrical works, within a collaborative team environment.

You will engage with stakeholders, produce clear progress reports, and support delivery from concept to completion while ensuring compliance with planning permissions and regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience of major infrastructure projects including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation works.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Clear, systematic approach to solving complex issues and ability to communicate solutions effectively.
• Ability to work to deadlines with a focus on results and quality.
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to review and write decision support papers and progress reports.
• Enthusiastic and able to inspire others.
• Proficient in Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Teams.
• Proven project management capability.
• 4+ years of experience on major infrastructure projects including MCC/automation works.

Responsibilities

• Regularly monitor NEC contract management portal, CEMAR, and report weekly status to the Project Manager.
• Coordinate with the technical adviser to deliver client feedback to the contractor on time to meet contractual requirements.
• Produce meeting minutes, track actions, and monitor outstanding items.
• Chair regular technical meetings with the Contractor for the pipeline contracts.
• Support the Project Manager to fulfil NEC contract duties.
• Communicate with stakeholders regarding project objectives and assist planning and development.
• Manage ad hoc projects from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with advisers to ensure works comply with planning permissions, licences and regulations.
• Scrutinise contractor information, including early warning notices and compensation events.
