Job summary

Exolum is recruiting a Despatcher for a permanent role in the UK pipeline network. The role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective fuel movements, operating SCADA systems and coordinating with multiple teams.

The candidate will monitor the network, respond to routine and emergency scenarios, and report incidents to support compliance. A 5-week rotating shift and 11 days annual leave are included.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Experience in a pipeline, despatcher, or control room role.
• Exposure to Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Water, or Hazardous Materials.
• Experience with control systems (preferably SCADA).
• Strong IT literacy and analytical decision-making skills.
• Proactive and safety-conscious mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the pipeline network via SCADA and other control systems.
• Act as central point of contact for routine, abnormal, and emergency pipeline scenarios.
• Coordinate with shippers, scheduling teams, pipeline technicians, and maintenance staff.
• Record, monitor and report alarms, near misses and incidents for regulatory compliance.
