Job summary

Scottish Power is seeking a SCADA Engineer to oversee the delivery of the SCADA and communications infrastructure for an offshore renewables project, based in London with a hybrid work pattern.

The role involves reviewing supplier SCADA and telecom documents, managing project SCADA/telecom requirements, and coordinating tests from factory to offshore commissioning. Offshore tickets may be required; contract until 2027 with extension, umbrella or PAYE available.

Qualifications

• Experience with SCADA systems and data exchange protocols (IEC 60807-5-104 / Modbus / OPC).
• Knowledge of industrial networks and databases related to SCADA systems.
• Offshore tickets/certificates may be required for offshore work.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA and telecommunication documents from suppliers and internal project docs.
• Manage project SCADA and telecommunications requirements ensuring alignment with programme.
• Create, maintain and update test schedules and reports; coordinate tests (FAT, FAT, site/offshore commissioning).

The position involves all activities related to the delivery of the complete SCADA and communications infrastructure within the scope of the offshore renewables project.

Expectations

• Reviewing SCADA and telecommunication documents from suppliers (i.e. WTG, Substation Control Systems, Auxilliary Systems)


• Reviewing internal project documentation with SCADA & telecommunications requirements


• Managing project SCADA and telecommunication requirements


• Creating, maintaining and updating documents such as test schedules and reports


• Management of suppliers and contractors to ensure SCADA and telecommunications programme and technical delivery is aligned with overall project programme and Employer's Requirements


• Attending factory acceptance tests, interoperability tests, site acceptance tests, onshore commissioning and offshore commissioning

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical/Control/Computing (Engineering) or equivalent.


• Experience of SCADA systems and industry standard data exchange protocols such as IEC 60807-5-104 / Modbus /OPC is essential experience of these protocols within windfarm systems is desired.


• Knowledge of industrial network and database applications related to SCADA is essential.


• Short periods of Offshore working will likely be required so relevant offshore tickets/certificates are required.
