Job summary

KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions LTD is seeking a Senior SCADA/Controls Engineer for a critical infrastructure project in the UK. The role involves developing and supporting the automated SCADA/EMS system that manages multiple energy sources on site, with a focus on reliability and safety.

You will work with an experienced in-house engineering team on a high-consequence project, coordinating with generators, BESS and wind energy, and delivering robust control solutions to meet the Functional

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience developing SCADA systems for power generation, renewables, microgrids or similar critical infrastructure environments.
• Strong PLC/SCADA development background - Beckhoff TwinCAT experience highly desirable.
• Experience integrating multiple asset types (generators, BESS, renewables) into a single control platform.
• Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3, IEC 61850 or OPC UA.
• Comfortable working in a high-consequence environment where errors carry real operational impact.
• Available to start at short notice for a 6 month contract.

Responsibilities

• Developing and supporting SCADA/EMS control logic integrating generators, BESS and wind generation into one automated system.
• Coordinating closed-loop automatic control across energy sources with an Enercon-based wind SCADA platform.
• Building HMI screens, alarm management and historical data logging.
• Supporting automatic transitions between generation sources, load management and diesel dispatch logic.
• Liaising with site engineering teams on safe delivery of control changes.
