Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Pipeline Civil Engineer to deliver technical engineering across major pipeline projects in the UK and internationally. You will work with clients and multidisciplinary teams to oversee design deliverables, select materials, and apply trenchless methods to critical networks.

You will use advanced tools to assess asset life, rehabilitation options, and failure analyses, while contributing to proposals and high-level reports for ongoing projects and research collaborations with

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; Chartered or Incorporated status or working toward registration with ICE/CIWEM.
• Experience across pipeline disciplines, including structural design of buried pipelines (BS EN 1295-1:2019, BS 9295:2020), thrust restraint design (CIRIA C816/Report 128).
• Familiarity with pipeline rehabilitation, trenchless design principles, failure assessments, or piping analysis software like CAESAR II.
• Excellent proposal and report-writing skills; ability to liaise with multidisciplinary peers, clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering across the full lifecycle of major pipeline projects.
• Oversee material selection, structural design of buried pipelines, thrust restraint, and trenchless technologies.
• Apply advanced pipeline analysis tools; evaluate rehabilitation options and extend asset life.
• Contribute to project proposals, produce high-level technical reports, and support research with industry bodies.
