Job summary

James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking a Mechanical Pipefitter to install, assemble, maintain and test small-bore piping systems across marine, offshore and defence projects. You will interpret blueprints, plan layouts and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role is permanent and based near Inchinnan, Glasgow, with travel to client sites, including potential overseas visits. A security clearance may be required for defence-related work.

Qualifications

• Experience with small-bore piping systems.
• Knowledge of P&IDs, schematics and procedures.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and specs.
• Willingness to travel to client sites, including overseas visits.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, maintain and test small-bore piping systems per drawings and procedures.
• Conduct inspections and tests to ensure system integrity.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate piping into projects.
• Maintain knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
• Provide training/guidance to junior pipefitters and staff.
• Prepare detailed reports on installations, maintenance and repairs.
• Adhere to permits to work, risk assessments and PPE.
