Job summary

James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking a Mechanical Pipefitter to install, assemble, maintain and test small-bore piping systems. Based in Inchinnan, near Glasgow, this permanent role supports marine, defence and offshore projects, interpreting blueprints and ensuring safety and quality compliance.

You will work with other teams, may travel to client sites including overseas, and help train junior staff while upholding strict risk assessments and permits to work.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and testing small-bore piping systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings (P&IDs, schematics).
• Ability to obtain security clearance for defence sector.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, maintain and test small-bore piping systems.
• Conduct inspections and tests to ensure integrity and functionality.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate piping into projects.
• Maintain knowledge of industry safety standards and procedures.
• Provide training to junior pipefitters and staff.
• Prepare reports on installations, maintenance and repairs.
• Adhere to safety regulations, permits to work and PPE.
