Job summary

MAXIMUS is a global organisation delivering health and employment services, with a Nurse Functional Assessor role in Preston requiring clinical expertise to evaluate how a disability or health condition impacts daily life.

You will perform multiform assessments, generate WCA reports for DWP decisions, and participate in a structured training and mentorship programme to support ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Valid NMC registration number.
• At least 1 year of broad post-registration adult or mental health experience.
• Right to work in the UK – we cannot offer sponsorships.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects daily life.
• Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports to help determine eligibility for benefits.
• Develop clinical knowledge and assessment skills with regular feedback and supervision.
