Job summary

Grand Union Village School is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant to support physiotherapy for pupils aged 4 to 11 with severe and profound learning disabilities, including autism, at a new primary special school. The role supports therapy programmes and includes overseeing manual handling, within a multidisciplinary team and access to hydrotherapy facilities.

The position is term-time only, Tuesday to Friday, with full training and clear pathways for progression.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience, or willingness to undertake training.
• DBS check.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of physiotherapy for pupils at the school
• Deliver specific therapy programmes once trained, under the oversight of qualified physiotherapists
• Support and oversee manual handling within the school
• Support children with a range of special educational needs
