Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Paediatric Physiotherapy Assistant to join the friendly paediatric team. You will support physiotherapists, school staff, and families to deliver therapy to children aged 4–19 with complex needs in schools, nurseries, and community settings.

The role focuses on practical delivery, adaptable activity modification, and collaborative care with families and education teams. NHS experience and a passion for children’s services are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a physiotherapy assistant/technician in an NHS setting.
• Experience working with children in a clinical or educational context.
• Role does not require a physiotherapy qualification but relevant hands-on experience is essential.
• Able to support Physiotherapists and school staff in delivering therapy programmes.
• Flexible approach to care, with good customer service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support children in mainstream and special schools, preschool settings, community locations and MSK clinics.
• Work with children who may have complex needs or SEN while following physiotherapy guidance.
• Work independently under supervision of a Physiotherapist.
• Support delivery of individual physiotherapy programmes with education staff.
• Adapt activities to meet each child’s needs and enable access to curriculum and environment.
• Travel between schools and community locations as required.
• Assist with administrative duties to support daily department operations.
• Contribute to team meetings and departmental projects.
• Assist Physiotherapists with training for school staff and parents.
