Job summary

Grand Union Village School seeks an Level 1 teaching assistant to provide high levels of personal care and support to pupils aged 4 to 11 with complex needs. The role focuses on helping pre-verbal pupils and those with severe disabilities, within a dedicated special school team.

The post is term-time only with five training days and a 36-hour week; applications for full-time or part-time will be considered, with enhanced DBS and safeguarding commitments required.

Qualifications

• Experience with pupils who have challenging behaviours
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children
• Ability to work with complex learning needs
• Interest in personal care and support tasks

Responsibilities

• Provide high levels of personal care and support to pupils throughout the day
• Support children with severe and profound learning disabilities and complex needs
• Assist pupils including pre-verbal ones with self-regulation
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
