Job summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Rehabilitation Support Worker to join our inpatient therapy team. This role supports patients in regaining independence and returning home safely, within a dynamic, patient‑centred service with a strong team ethos.

You will work alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Support Workers and Nursing staff, delivering prescribed rehabilitation programmes and contributing to timely discharge,

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Therapy Rehabilitation Team, delivering therapeutic interventions in the Community Hospital Rehabilitation setting.
• Work under Allied Health Professionals to provide safe, effective care.
• Assist assessment and follow treatment plans; share information with patients and carers.
• Record interventions and changes to patients' clinical condition.
• Work within Trust standards and within your role and competence.
• Undertake rotational work within the department as required.

Key Responsibilities

• The post holder will work as part of the Therapy Rehabilitation Team team providing therapeutic and clinical interventions to patients in the Community Hospital Rehabilitation setting.
• Work under the direction of the Allied Health Professionals, to deliver safe, effective care to the local population.
• Contributes to assessment of care needs and follows treatment plans. Provides advice and information to patients, relatives and carers within the hospital environment.
• Records and documents interventions and changes to the patients clinical condition.
• To practice in accordance of Trust standards and policies and to work within the boundaries of their role and individual competence
• Undertake rotational work within the department as/if required.

The role involves delivering rehabilitation programmes prescribed by qualified therapy staff, using a patient‑centred, goal‑focused approach to maximise independence, promote recovery, and facilitate timely discharge from hospital.
