Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a sales-focused professional with a strong background in photonics to drive new business, qualify leads, and develop solutions for international customers. You will negotiate contracts, coordinate design and manufacturing resources, and present equipment demonstrations at conferences and trade fairs.

You will excel at communicating technical information, building relationships with customers, and expanding into new markets while managing a CRM pipeline from initial contact

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in physics, optics, chemistry or engineering.
• Experience with optical setups, laboratory environments or photonics equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers.
• Fluent in English.
• Strong organizational, data analysis and reporting skills.
• Ability to present concepts to a large audience.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business, including lead qualification and solution development in many areas of the photonics industry.
• Frequent communication with the customer (specifications, pricing, product availability, services, etc).
• Contract negotiation and coordination of design and manufacturing resources for custom solutions.
• Provide technical advice and support for international customers, focusing on pre‑sale enquiries.
• Leverage industry expertise and strong customer relationships to identify additional business opportunities.
• Find new markets/industries for Thorlabs to support.
• Manage the sales pipeline within CRM, from qualification to close.
• Provide market feedback to R&D and Marketing Communication groups.
• Present equipment demonstrations and interact with customers at conferences and trade fairs.
