Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support learning across year groups. The role involves planning, delivering and assessing targeted interventions, with a focus on phonics and early reading development.

The successful candidate will contribute to safeguarding, inclusivity and pupil wellbeing, while working with SEND, EAL and other needs. The post aligns with term-time hours at 38 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of a range of learning barriers, including special needs.
• Experience contributing to and assessing provision for children with a range of needs.
• Knowledge of social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
• At least two years' school-based experience as a TA, or equivalent.
• RWI training and relevant leadership development.
• Strong knowledge of phonics, early reading, assessment, grouping, intervention, inclusion and safeguarding, with the ability to use data to improve provision.
• Successful primary phonics teaching, using assessment to improve provision and pupil outcomes.

Responsabilités

• Planning, preparing and delivering engaging learning activities for individuals, groups and classes.
• Monitoring, assessing and reporting on pupils' achievement, progress and development.
• Leading and developing teaching support provision, including coordinating, mentoring and appraising staff.
• Identifying and addressing barriers to learning through targeted support and intervention.
• Supporting the achievement, wellbeing and inclusion of all pupils, including those with SEND, EAL and other additional needs.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
• Leading phonics assessments, moderation, pupil grouping and progress tracking.
• Identifying pupils requiring additional support and implementing targeted interventions.
• Monitoring progress towards the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check and supporting pupils beyond Year 1 where required.
• Leading the daily delivery and continuous improvement of the Read Write Inc. programme.
• Ensuring consistent implementation of phonics teaching routines, expectations and best practice.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo and pastoral teams to meet individual pupil needs.
• Planning, delivering and reviewing one-to-one tutoring and intervention programmes.
• Adapting teaching approaches and resources to support pupils with additional needs.
