Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is hiring a Phlebotomist (Band 2) based at Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours, with a rotating shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

You will join the phlebotomy team, providing blood sample collection across hospital and community clinics, supporting patient care and diagnostics while adhering to Trust policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and maths at C grade or above or equivalent.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or apprenticeship in related subject.
• Access to private transport insured for class 1 business use to travel to community clinics and transport samples.
• Experience in phlebotomy and healthcare setting.
• Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide phlebotomy services across Royal Stoke and community sites.
• Collect blood samples safely and efficiently.
• Support patient care and diagnostic services.
• Travel to community clinics as needed.
• Work as part of the phlebotomy rota.
