Job description

Job Title: Phlebotomy Supervisor

Due to the expanding Phlebotomy service within MYTT, we are seeking to recruit a further Supervisor.

The role involves working between Pinderfields and Pontefract, with occasional cover at Dewsbury. The position may require some weekend and bank holiday work.

We provide a phlebotomy service to hospital wards, outpatients, housebound patients, and the new Clinical Diagnostic Centre in Wakefield.

Applicants should have phlebotomy and supervisory experience; however, training will be provided to candidates with the right qualities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Carry out routine blood collection duties within standard operating procedures, including in blood collection rooms, wards, clinics, and surgeries.
  2. Supervise staff training, maintain standards, organise rotas and holidays, and notify sickness and overtime.
  3. Perform administrative duties supporting departmental targets and ensuring SOP compliance.
  4. Interact politely, caring, and professionally with patients and staff.
Key Requirements
  • Secondary education, preferably with Level II qualifications in maths, English, and science.
  • Experience in phlebotomy and supervisory roles is preferred but not essential, as training is provided.
  • Experience in customer service, ideally in healthcare.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a calm and confident approach.
