Job summary

Operose Health in Basingstoke is seeking an experienced phlebotomist to join a supportive primary care team. The role is 30 hours per week and requires knowledge of phlebotomy within a general practice setting.

You will obtain high-quality blood samples, label and prepare them for the pathology department, record notes in patient records, and engage calmly with adults and children. The organisation offers development opportunities and a range of employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Primary Care setting and phlebotomy.
• Excellent patient care and bedside manner.
• Ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization practices.
• Able to follow clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining blood samples of the appropriate quality, taken with minimal stress to patients.
• Accurately labeling samples and preparing them for collection to the pathology department for analysis.
• Making appropriate notes in the patient’s record.
• Taking blood with patience and engaging with adults and children in a calm manner.
