Job summary

Riverside Medical Practice in Shrewsbury invites applications from a compassionate Phlebotomist to join our busy team. The role begins at 27.5 hours per week with potential to increase as the service develops, paying a rate in excess of £12.71 per hour depending on experience.

You will perform venepuncture, label and process specimens, maintain electronic records, monitor stock, and ensure rooms are clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Venepuncture performed in accordance with practice protocols.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records using the clinical system.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture for patients of all ages within competency and practice protocols.
• Label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory transportation.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records and monitor stock levels of phlebotomy equipment.
• Ensure clinical rooms are clean, safe, and well-stocked; follow safety policies.
• Provide reassurance to patients and respond to those who become unwell after venepuncture.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to support efficient patient care.
