Job summary

Spire Clare Park Hospital in Farnham is seeking a Pharmacy Technician on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support the Pharmacy Department. The role runs Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm (37.5 hours) and requires a background in pharmacy, NVQ Level 3, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

You will assist in dispensing, preparation of medicines, data recording, and adherence to current regulations. Spire offers a supportive environment with development and patient‑focused care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a pharmacy department (hospital or community).
• NVQ Level 3 is preferred.
• Strong team-working skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly numerate and literate.
• Administrative experience involving checking and monitoring processes.
• Ability to handle sensitive and challenging situations professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacy team in providing an exemplary pharmacy service to the hospital and its patients, within your level of competence.
• Contribute to the safe and effective use of medicines.
• Undertake routine delegated activities accurately and in line with current legislation, professional standards, and Spire Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Prepare yourself, equipment, materials and medicines for specific tasks.
• Accurately dispense medicines according to prescriptions, ensuring all items are checked by a pharmacist.
• Prepare small batches of pre‑packed and/or over‑labelled medicines as required, ensuring pharmacist verification.
• Accurately record data and information relating to activities and ensure this is passed to the appropriate team member or filed correctly.
• Identify and report any significant changes within the pharmacy department or service that may impact patient health and wellbeing.

Spire Clare Park Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Department on a 12 month fixed-term contract

Spire Clare Park Hospital is a modern elective hospital located in Farnham and is rated“Good” by the CQC. The hospital provides a broad range of surgical and diagnostic services, includingOrthopaedics, General Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, Urology, Dermatology and ENT, supported by state‑of‑the‑art imaging facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Assist the pharmacy team in providing an exemplary pharmacy service to the hospital and its patients, working within your level of competence
