Job summary

Job Overview

The Pharmacy Department at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital are seeking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician to support our dispensary & stores team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring we supply and dispense medicines safely, effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispensing a wide range of prescription types methodically, accurately and efficiently.
  • Supporting the ordering, receiving and invoicing of pharmacy stock.
  • Ensuring stock is maintained in line with manufacturers guidance, including temperature monitoring, good stock rotation and expiry date checking.
  • Supporting the training and development of all staff members with regards to dispensary related activities.
  • Supporting the Senior Pharmacy Technician for Dispensary through leading and co‑ordinating dispensary workflow.
  • Ensuring service users receive information regarding their medicines.
  • Reception duties such as answering the hatch and receiving and triaging phone‑calls within the dispensary.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC or currently completing training as a Trainee Pharmacy Technician and registered with the GPhC within the next 3 months.
  • Strong team player with excellent time management, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communicator.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
