We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician at HMP Winchester to join our team. HMP Winchester is a Category B local remand prison located in Central Winchester, accommodating approximately 670 male prisoners.

Although the site is close to Winchester city centre, there is onsite parking for all staff, and it is a short walk from Winchester train station.

Hours

This position is full-time, 37.5 hours a week, with shifts from 07:30 to 18:00, 4 days a week.

Salary

You will receive an annual salary up to £43,534 per annum FTE, depending on experience gained in a prison and if you are ACT trained.

Main duties of the job

As a GPHC registered pharmacy technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing outstanding, patient-centred care, seeking out, listening to, and acting on patient feedback to ensure personalized and informed care.
• Focusing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, maintaining patient medical records to the standard required, and following standard operating procedures diligently.
• Delivering non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards.
• Involving activities from the timely administration of medicines to analyzing cost-effective prescribing, as defined through our health in justice medicines policy.
• Working as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team to make a real difference.
