Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the team at HMP & YOI Hollesley Bay, a Category D Prison in Hollesley, Suffolk. The role is 37.5 hours per week, with shifts Mon–Fri from 07:00–15:00, 08:15–16:15, or 07:00–17:00.

The position offers a salary between £29,264 and £33,510 per annum, depending on experience, with bespoke induction and learning support, plus clear career development pathways within the Health in Justice framework.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a pharmacy within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.
  • Excellent communication with patients and colleagues.
  • Commitment to patient safety and accuracy.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP & YOI Hollesley Bay, a Category D Prison located in the village of Hollesley, near Woodbridge in Suffolk.

Hours

37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday (07:00‑15:00, 08:15‑16:15, or 07:00‑17:00).

Salary

This full‑time position offers a salary between £29,264 and £33,510 per annum, depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing
  • Ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard and that standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Ensuring timely administration of medicines and analysing cost‑effective prescribing as defined by our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
  • Collaborating to make a difference to all the people we support and fostering Practice Plus Group as a place where each of us feels appreciated, challenged and supported to do our best work.
  • Communicating complex or sensitive information whilst demonstrating empathy and understanding to patients.
  • Sharing information about pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, medicines legislation and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team is appropriately informed.

What we’ll look for in you

  • Hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC).
  • Have post‑qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and within a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Desirable experience in hospital, community or prison settings.
