Job summary

NHS Scotland is recruiting a Pharmacy Support Worker to join the Prison Healthcare and GP Out of Hours team. Based primarily at HMP Castle Huntly, the post may require duties across HMP Perth, Bella CCU, and GP Out of Hours in Perth and Dundee as needed.

The role supports safe, effective pharmaceutical services with a focus on medicines processing, stock control, and records compliance. Weekend rota may be required.

Qualifications

• SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent meets regulatory requirements of GPhC.
• Patient-centered approach and commitment to high-quality care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accurate and timely processing and supply of medicines.
• Support ordering, receipt, storage and distribution of medicines and stock.
• Participate in medicines stock control, including rotation and monitoring.
• Order medicines and sundry items and manage invoicing.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with legislation, SOPs.
• Contribute to safe, efficient delivery of pharmacy services to patients.
