Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Stock Controller for Pharmacy Stores at the Royal Derby Hospital. The role supports stock control duties to ensure smooth operation for staff and patients, with training provided and a friendly logistics team.

Hours are 8.15am - 4.45pm with a 60-minute lunch. The closing date is 18 October 2026. The post involves daily stock reporting, discrepancy review, and expiry date checks, within a supportive NHS environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE English or Maths or equivalent level
• Good basic literacy/numeracy skills
• Knowledge of pharmacy services
• Knowledge of stock control systems
• Good basic computer skills
• Ability to use automated / electronic systems
• Previous experience of working within pharmacy

Responsibilities

• Print and complete daily stock report for Pharmacy Stores
• Review ad-hoc stock discrepancies on stock investigation sheet
• Run the low use (KSLOW) report monthly for Stores
• Stock check must-have and critical medicines list daily
• Stock check consumables lines held in Stores
• Complete daily abusable stock checks
• Check expiry dates and rotate stock in Stores
