Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Stores Stock Controller at Royal Derby Hospital. You will manage stock control duties to ensure smooth pharmacy operations for staff and patients, with training provided and a day shift.

The role involves daily stock reports, discrepancy reviews, monthly KSLOW reporting, and expiry date checks, contributing to safe, efficient pharmaceutical supply chains.

Job overview

The post holder will be based in the Pharmacy Stores at the Royal Derby Hospital and will be responsible for carrying out stock control duties to support the smooth running of the Pharmacy Stores for staff and patients

The pharmacy logistics team are welcoming and friendly. We are a diverse team and offer the hand of friendship to all new starters.

Training and education will be provided.

Hours of work: 8.15am - 4.45pm with 60 minutes for lunch

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the job are:

  • Be responsible for the printing and completion of the stock report for the Pharmacy Stores on a daily basis
  • Be responsible for reviewing ad-hoc stock discrepancies that have been recorded on the stock investigation sheet for Stores
  • Be responsible for running the low use (KSLOW) report for Stores on a monthly basis
  • Be responsible for stock checking the Must Have and critical medicines list stock levels on a daily basis
  • Be responsible for stock checking the consumables lines held in Stores.
  • Complete the daily abusable stock checks.
  • Be responsible for the planned expiry date checking and stock rotation of stock held in Stores
