Job summary

The post holder at UHDB will manage daily pharmacy store operations, ensuring efficient distribution and goods-in service at Queens Hospital Burton On Trent. The team is welcoming, diverse, and training can be provided.

Hours are 8.15am to 4.15pm. A pharmacy NVQ Level 2 is advantageous, but training can be supplied. Opportunities for development and flexible working options are available within the Trust.

Qualifications

• GCSE grade 3 or equivalent in Maths and English.
• GPhC approved Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services or willingness to work towards.
• Proven experience in a customer facing role, ideally within an NHS setting.
• Knowledge of pharmacy services and stock control systems.
• Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy stores department.

Responsibilities

• Participate in topping up service to wards & departments at Queens Hospital Burton On Trent.
• Participate in adhoc supply of stock items to wards & departments.
• Participate in the supply & distribution of pharmaceuticals to wards & departments.
• Receive goods delivered to Pharmacy stores, check against documents, record batch numbers & expiry dates, and log details in the stock control system.
• Ensure products are stored in the correct areas.
• Perform waste management & disposal of return medicines, including hazardous items.
• Provide customer focussed service at the hatch or receipt area.
