Job summary

The Pharmacy Stores and Distribution team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a fixed-term Pharmacy Stores Assistant for 23 months. The role covers receiving, storing and supplying medicines and bulk fluids to wards and clinics, handling routine top-ups and ad hoc requests.

Weekend and bank holiday shifts are part of agreed rotas, so availability on those days matters. The ideal candidate will have GCSE English and Maths (grades 4-9) and working IT skills.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at A-C (grade 4-9).
• Good keyboard skills and working IT ability.
• Willingness to work weekends and bank holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store and distribute medicines to wards and departments.
• Manage stock supply for wards and clinics via routine top-ups and ad hoc requests.
• Order, pick, deliver and store stock including bulk fluids and feeds.
• Carry out stock management, counts, rotation and discrepancy investigations.
• Maintain ward automation and pharmacy computer systems data entry.
• Process orders under the Wholesale Dealer's Licence following SOPs.
• Work weekends and bank holidays on agreed rotas.
