Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Storekeeper to join the Pharmacy Stores team at Leicester Royal Infirmary. The role involves receiving orders for pharmaceutical products, maintaining stock control, and ensuring efficient storage and distribution across hospital units.

The successful candidate will have experience in storekeeping, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to health & safety. Travel between Leicester sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Hold QCF/NVQ Level 2 certificate or equivalent in Pharmacy Services, or be willing to complete within 12 months.
• GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Willingness to undertake on the job training to develop knowledge of pharmacy procedures and protocols.
• Previous storekeeping experience; knowledge of Health & Safety policies and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Record all batch numbers and expiry dates and input data onto the pharmacy computer.
• Maintain effective stock control, storage and rotation and supply of pharmaceuticals to units served by the Pharmacy department.
• Ensure stock is rotated with oldest stock or shortest expiry first to minimise wastage.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of stores area and yard; dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste per local policies.
