Job summary

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Services Assistant to provide medicines management across multiple sites in the EPUT region, including Chelmsford and satellite locations. Training will be provided for NVQ Level 2-equivalent qualifications, and travel between sites is required.

Previous hospital or community pharmacy experience is advantageous but not essential. A driving licence and vehicle are preferred to support regional duties and flexible work

Qualifications

• Qualification to NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).
• Previous hospital or community pharmacy experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to travel across the EPUT region; driving licence and vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support services to the Pharmacy department, including ordering, receipt, storage and supply of pharmaceuticals and other stock, and dispensing individual prescriptions.
• Participate as an active member of ward/unit/clinical teams, supporting safe and effective use of medicines.
• Contribute to the pharmacy service to wards/units/clinical teams.
• Dispense and supply medication from satellite pharmacies under supervision of a registered pharmacy professional.
• Collaborate with clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to provide integrated pharmaceutical care, ensuring safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines.
