East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust invites applications for a Trainee Science and Manufacturing Technician, undertaking a Level 3 SMT qualification over two years. The role supports chemotherapy preparation and medicines supply, under supervision of pharmacy professionals, in a highly specialised environment.

You must have 5 GCSEs (including Maths, English, Science) and demonstrate attention to detail, organisational skills, and a commitment to learning.

Formación

• Essential: 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grade A*-C or 9-5 including Maths, English, Science
• Essential: Ability to complete the SMT Level 3 qualification in 2 years
• Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
• Desirable: A Levels or equivalent

Responsabilidades

• Assist with the provision of pharmaceutical services to East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.
• Undertake the Level 3 SMT qualification to become a registered Science and Manufacturing Technician.
• Participate in providing a comprehensive pharmacy service while following a structured training programme.
• Work with pharmacists and technicians to ensure patients receive safe, effective drug treatment.
• Utilise isolator technology and clean room facilities to prepare chemotherapy and extemporaneous medicines.
• Act as an in-process checker when accreditation is met; dispense individual chemotherapy doses using batch products.
